Zatswho®, Helping Children with Special Needs

As the founder of Zatswho, with a brother who is both blind and paralyzed, I know firsthand how difficult it can be to find products to fits the needs of those family members that may require extra support based on their individual need. Knowing a child with special needs have the same basic needs as other typical children: they are curious about their family and world: they want to have fun and learn and can benefit greatly from toys/games for their therapeutic, educational, and entertainment value enhancing a child's skills in communicative, cognitive, sensory and motor development..

Helping parents to narrow choices and experience success through play; we sent sets of ZATSWHO® Soft Photo Recognition Flashcard game to experienced educators for review and also to the nonprofit National Lekotek Center, the leading authority on play for children with disabilities. All product evaluations and research are conducted by certified educators and therapists with credentials in special education, early childhood education and related therapeutic specialties.

Our AblePlay™ rating can help to give you a snapshot of ZATSWHO® Soft Photo Recognition Flashcard games appropriateness for children with special needs, taking the guess work out for you.

"Children have a natural fascination for exploring and learning new things. Zatswho® allows youngsters to grow intellectually and physically in many different areas at different rates and levels of difficulty. It will provide the child enjoyable and satisfying achievements. The child may begin by learning to touch, then speak the names of family members, pets etc.

Perhaps, the best part of Zatswho® is your involvement with the child. Spending time with a child is a gift in itself. At the same time being able to help prepare the youngster for formal education by providing a solid foundation in a fun and entertaining way is a parent’s dream. Zatswho® can do all this and more!"

I could spread the word about the benefits of Zatswho all day : ) Posted by B Clark on 3rd Feb 2011

A fabulous present for my own 18 month old who is hearing impaired. We filled the flash cards with images of close family members so she can practice saying and signing their names and it’s really helping! So the next time you think about a loved one separated by distance, think about sending them their own pack of Zatswho flash cards it just might make a world of difference!

Regular drills to help him develop his articulation skills Posted by Michelle S. Ohio on 26th Jul 2010

I thought you should know that my 7yo son, UNPROMPTED, initiated an activity with my 4yo using the new Zatswho set I brought home from the ASTRA toy trade show. My 4yo has a speech delay that requires regular drills to help him develop his articulation skills. My 7yo sat down with an old magazine and they cut out pic...tures of toys and food and other things they like and put them inside the Zatswho sleeves. Then, the older one began quizzing the younger one - helping him say the names of the objects they'd chosen. When they were finished, they cut out other pictures and swapped them out with the old and did it again. THANK YOU for a wonderful educational tool and toy.
